Todd finally sings!

Every trailer, TV spot, and clip for Tim Burton’s upcoming SWEENEY TODD has skipped over the little known fact that TODD is a musical, leaving the majority of the public believing that it’s a musical, but just a regular ol’ movie. Well that is about to change!

scored the first glimpse of star Johnny Depp singing his heart out about how ‘we all deserve to die’ while whipping around his handy straight edge blade around Helen Bonham Carter’s neck. So how we lookin’? We’re lookin’ pretty damn good so far!

What’s funny is to hear Depp say that he didn’t know if he could do it, but then BAM! the guy’s obviously a singin’ machine. I’m not really into musicals, but with Burton’s look and ability to paint a truly beautiful picture (not to mention it’s supposedly bloody as hell), I’d say this is one musical that I’d actually pay to see in the theaters.

What say you? Check out the video, then spit some bullets below on your take of the musical portion of SWEENEY TODD. You dig it? You hate it? Your crush on Depp has you loving everything the man does? Let it be known, and get ready for SWEENEY TODD in theaters everywhere this December.
