Theories have an extended shoot on THE REVENANT opposite Leonardo DiCaprio or the upcoming media slate for MAX MAX: FURY ROAD as being possible reasons, but for know we need to know who will replace Hardy as the Squad’s leader, Rick Flagg.

According to The Wrap, that replacement may already be found. Ayer may be able to get his END OF WATCH star Jake Gyllenhaal for Hardy’s vacated role. This could be an interesting change as Gyllenhaal has previously muscled up for roles in PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME and Antoine Fuqua‘s upcoming SOUTHPAW.
