Tomb Raider 2 lands Kill List screenwriter

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Get ready for another TOMB RAIDER flick as today we have word via Deadline that MGM and Warner Bros have hired Amy Jump to write the script for TOMB RAIDER 2. Alicia Vikander supposedly will return as she liked Jump’s scripting. Jump is best known for her collaborations with director Ben Wheatley such as KILL LIST, SIGHTSEERS, HIGH RISE, and most recently FREE FIRE starring Brie Larson, Cillian Murphy, and Armie Hammer.

I don't know if the world needs a sequel to TOMB RAIDER but I have to say that if it does, then Jump is the right person to bring it to us. Let's just hope this film features Croft battling a field (and sewer tunnel system) filled with nightmare-fueled cult members. Now THAT'S a TOMB RAIDER 2 I would happily watch… with the lights on.

Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Alastair Siddons wrote the first flick which followed

Lara Croft is the fiercely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished years earlier. Hoping to solve the mystery of her father's disappearance, Croft embarks on a perilous journey to his last-known destination — a fabled tomb on a mythical island that might be somewhere off the coast of Japan. The stakes couldn't be higher as Lara must rely on her sharp mind, blind faith and stubborn spirit to venture into the unknown.

TOMB RAIDER was directed by Roar Uthaug from a screenplay written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Alastair Siddons based on a story by Evan Daugherty and Geneva Robertson-Dworet based on Tomb Raider by Crystal Dynamics. Graham King produced and the film starred Alicia Vikander, Dominic West, Walton Goggins, and Daniel Wu. If you don't already own a copy of the original film on Blu-ray, you can snag a copy on Amazon HERE.
