So, here’s the trailer for BLACK ROCK, the new horror-thriller from actress/director Katie Aselton, starring Kate Bosworth, Lake Bell, and Aselton as a group of childhood friends who decide to reconnect by taking a rickety boat to a tiny island off the coast of Washington. Seems legit, yeah?
The trailer is kind of like a paint-by-numbers guidebook to cutting a trailer in film school, but it almost works as a kind of comical piece, as you will likely be asking yourself, “Wait, are they serious?” The film premiered at Sundance earlier this year to ho-hum reviews, but with a miniscule budget, the pic will likely turn a decent profit by the time it’s released. Hopefully, they’ll cut a new trailer, which either makes it look more legit or more like the B-movie it likely is. My idea for a tagline? BLACK ROCK – “No means No.”
