Whether you want it or not, the found footage genre's golden child, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, is keeping the stereotypical scares comin' with the latest (and first) spinoff entry, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE MARKED ONES. Written and directed by the writer of the previous three films in the series, Christopher Landon, this spinoff focuses on a Latin-American family this time out, and the usual tropes are still in effect, including bite marks, kids-as-ghosts, crazy eyes, shadows, and people being tossed by an invisible force. If that's your bag, then this will be, too.

Have a look:

So, here's a thing; I've never seen a PARANORMAL ACTIVITY movie. They just aren't my thing. Nothing against the genre or anything, but it's just never enticed me enough to take a look. So, I'm a poor judge of saying whether or not this one looks up to snuff and will leave that to you guys to decide. From my perspective it looks like more of the same, which again, keeps my interest absent. But, I'm interested to hear what fans of the series think, especially as this is a spinoff of the original franchise. So, let's hear it!

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE MARKED ONES rings in the new year of horror on January 3, 2014.

Oh, hello there, nightmares…
