We’ve just been alerted to a pretty nifty-looking found footage thriller called SKEW, which is just getting rolling on the film festival circuit. (It recently won Independent Spirit Award at the Australian “A Night of Horror International Film Festival”.) We’ve got the trailer for you below, which is certainly worth a peek, if only for the unnerving visual effects utilized by director Sevé Schelenz.

The synopsis: With a video camera in hand, good friends Simon, Rich, and Eva head out on a road trip that they hope will create lasting memories. Little do they know that what starts out as a carefree adventure will soon become a descent into a series of unexplained events that will threaten their very lives. Realizing it’s the video camera itself that is triggering the supernatural experiences, each one of them must struggle with personal demons and paranoia as gruesome realities are revealed.

SKEW stars Amber Lewis, Richard Olak and Robert Scattergood. It will be playing a host of other festivals in the coming months, so hopefully it’ll pick up some international distribution during the course of its adventures.
