Trailer: Gillian Jacobs faces a monster in October release Come Play

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Writer/director Jacob Chase's supernatural horror film COME PLAY is set to reach theatres on October 30th, and the marketing kicked off today with the release of a trailer, embedded above, and a poster, which can be seen below.

A feature expansion of Chase's short film LARRY, COME PLAY stars Gillian Jacobs, John Gallagher Jr., and newcomer Azhy Robertson. The story centers on

Oliver (Robertson), a lonely young boy who feels different from everyone else.  Desperate for a friend, he seeks solace and refuge in his ever-present cell phone and tablet.  When a mysterious creature uses Oliver’s devices against him to break into our world, Oliver’s parents (Jacobs and Gallagher) must fight to save their son from the monster beyond the screen.

The film was produced by The Picture Company for Amblin Partners. When the project was first announced, it was said that it would "harken back to early Amblin movies".

COME PLAY looks good to me and I love early Amblin movies, so I will be checking this out for sure.
