Trailer: Gothic thriller The Black Gloves gets May DVD and VOD release

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen's Entertainment Studios, has announced that they have acquired the North American distribution rights to director Lawrie Brewster's psychological Gothic horror/thriller THE BLACK GLOVES, and they're planning to release the film next month. THE BLACK GLOVES will be available to rent and own on DVD and VOD in North America as of May 15th.

Along with this announcement comes the release of a trailer for the film, which is embedded above.

Written by Sarah Daly, THE BLACK GLOVES tells the story of

a psychologist obsessed with the disappearance of his young patient, and the menacing owl-headed figure that was plaguing her nightmares. His investigations lead him to a reclusive ballerina who, just like his patient, is convinced that she is about to die at the hands of this disturbing entity. In the bleak Scottish Highlands, he counsels his new patient under the watchful eye of her sinister ballet teacher. But he soon finds himself entangled in a ballet of paranoia, dark agendas and a maze of deadly twists and turns, as the legend of the Owlman becomes a terrifying reality.

Jamie Scott Gordon, Macarena Gómez, and Alexandra Hulme star. Brewster produced the film with Jennifer Tung.

A few years ago I was very impressed by a film Brewster and Daly collaborated on called THE UNKINDNESS OF RAVENS, so I look forward to seeing what they've done with THE BLACK GLOVES.
