Trailer: Soldiers vs. an alien in throwback sci-fi actioner Crossbreed

Crossbreed Brandon Slagle

While watching the newly released trailer for director Brandon Slagle's sci-fi action film CROSSBREED, I had the thought that this looks like the sort of ALIENS-inspired flick I would have caught on cable back in the late '80s or early '90s. Revisiting a news article we shared about CROSSBREED last year, I saw that was exactly what Slagle was going for – when the film was announced, it was said to be "a throwback to action films of the 1980s."

The '80s inspiration is pretty obvious when you get a look at the team of heroes at the center of the story. The blonde guy's hair is an instant giveaway.

Scripted by Slagle and Robert Thompson, CROSSBREED is about

a group of retired military war heroes who are sent to retrieve an extraterrestrial being from an illegal Medical Facility using its DNA to manufacture weapons.

The cast includes Vivica A. Fox, Daniel Baldwin, Stink Fisher, Devanny Pinn, Vernon Wells, and John T. Woods.

Check out the trailer below, and if you like what you see watch for CROSSBREED to be released sometime in 2018.
