Trent Reznor not involved with Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter after all?

Alright so at first Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor was geared up to not only score Timur Bekmatebov’s ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER, but he was actually going to cameo in that shite too!

Then Reznor spilled the news that his involvement was supposed to be a secret. And now he’s off the project? Make up your mind man!

According to Reznor (right) himself over at the Nine Inch Nails forum he was never attached to the project and has ultimately decided to pass on the opportunity. Don’t take my word for it though, scope out what Reznor had to say:

“Don’t believe everything you read. As it turns out, I WON’T be working on (acting or scoring) ALVH after all. There’s no juicy story here, it’s just that when the news mysteriously leaked out about my involvement I hadn’t made up my mind completely, because various aspects of the project were changing. I felt the need to say something earlier this week because my inbox was filling up with speculation, and at that moment I thought I would be doing it. Confused yet? Apparently I am. Bottom line, I wish them the best with the film and I’m sure it will still be great. Also, in all the excitement of the last note I forgot to mention we’re still fully engaged with the Year Zero mini-series, writing away.”

Alright then. Whatever floats your boat man. I’m sure the flick will still rock.. or suck. Think they’ll still stick with a cameo for the role of the vampire that kills Lincoln’s mother? My vote goes to Charlie Sheen. Winning.

When Abraham Lincoln was nine years old, his mother died from an ailment called the “milk sickness.” Only later did he learn that his mother’s deadly affliction was actually the work of a local vampire, seeking to collect a debt owed by Lincoln’s father. When Abe learned the truth, he vowed revenge and kept one passion hidden throughout his life: the brutal elimination of all vampires. His valiant, bloody fight against the undead was all but lost to history, until Grahame-Smith stumbled upon the secret journal of Abraham Lincoln.

Using the journal as his guide, Seth reconstructs Lincoln’s life story and uncovers the role vampires played in the birth, growth, and near-death of our nation. You don’t know Abe. Honest.

ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER stars Ben Walker, Dominic Cooper, Jimmi Simpson, Anthony Mackie and Mary Elisabeth Winstead (below). It’s already got a release date lined up for June 22, 2012. You can be sure more ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER goods will be rolling our way soon so be sure to check back for that!
