Tribes/October Poster

On Friday I showed you all a bunch of stills from the upcoming post-apocalyptic mafia flick TRIBES OF OCTOBER. Well at the time I went ahead and assumed they were development stills. I was wrong. TRIBES actor/writer Paul Sloan dropped us a line to let us know that those stills were the real deal! Apparently director Philippe Martinez has already shot a 7 minute opening sequence with Robert Duvall laying down some narration. So what you’re seeing is what you’re getting, and I’m fine with that!

Sloan also let us know that the filmmakers are planning on showing some TRIBES OF OCTOBER footage at Cannes! Could we be seeing that entire opening sequence?! That’d be pretty awesome. He also pointed us in the direction of the newest one sheet over at Cinepro Pictures. Get a shot of that poster above and click through for a larger version. The poster is just a blown up version of one of those previous stills but I’m still digging it! I get the feeling this thing is going to be violent… Anyone else get that feeling?

The synopsis reads: “October” is set in a future in which New York has become surrounded by an endless desert plagued by heat storms, and the city’s technology is such that nothing made after 1960 works any more. In this environment, a detective goes after a Mafia don who is going after the remnants of the NYPD. The detective is simultaneously searching for the love of his life. The detective will be played by Ray Stevenson while James Caan tackles the mafia don role with Robert Duvall as the head of the NYPD. The gorgeous Jamie King (below) plays the ‘love of the detective’s life.’ Stephen Moyer and Paul Sloan round out the cast. Sloan also penned the script with Philippe Martinez directing. Full production is set to start this August so keep it here for updates!
