To watch HBO's TRUE DETECTIVE is to love HBO's TRUE DETECTIVE. The first season anyways. All the same, I'm really looking forward to the third season from director Jeremy Saulnier (GREEN ROOM).
But when will be able to dive into more adventures with gruff detectives and dark landscapes? Well, it doesn't look like it be will in 2018 unfortunately.
Recently HBO Programming President Casey Bloys was at the annual winter TCA press tour and when he was whether or not we can expect TRUE DETECTIVE S3 in 2018 or not, he answered very simply.
Casey Bloys:
No, 2019.
So there you have it. It doesn't get much more cut and dry than that. But still, I can wait. Season 2 seemed to have been rushed out and it suffered for it. Take all the time you need with season 3, HBO.
