Here’s some interesting news that may have you going hmmmmmm: according to IESB, The Weinstein Company (TWC) has lost the rights (distributing or otherwise) to SIN CITY 2, the highly anticipated sequel to SIN CITY. Ok, but what does that mean?
TWC has been scrutinized for the mismanaging of some of their releases, as well as Bob & Harvey’s bizarre antics of requiring the final cut of the film’s they release to be their cut, and not the cut of the director–which (agreeably) pisses a lot of people off. No TWC control over SIN CITY 2 means that Robert Rodriguez & Co. will likely remain to have full creative control once the sucker gets made!
Troublemaker Studios is still set to produce the film, but no one knows for sure who will release it–Universal Pictures? Maybe. All that’s known is that TWC is no longer on board, though for reasons unknown at this point.
