Netflix has a U2 biopic series in the works, with J.J. Abrams at the helm. Oscar-nominated screenwriter Anthony McCarten (Bohemian Rhapsody) is attached to write the series, with Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. TV on the ground floor.
The Irish rock band U2 formed in 1976 with Bobo on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Edge on lead guitar, Adam Clayton playing bass, and Larry Mullen Jr. on drums. The band has released 14 studio albums, with songs like “Where the Streets Have No Name,” “With Or Without You,” Sunday Bloody Sunday,” “Elevation,” and “Lemon” being among their most popular tracks.
Details about the series are being kept from the lights of a lively discothèque as the project is in the early stages of development. Netflix and Bad Robot have not commented on the status of the project.

U2 has sold more than 170 million records worldwide and has earned 22 Grammys. It’s actually kind of surprising that it’s taken this long for a biopic about them to be made.
