Entertainment Weekly scored some pictures from the upcoming UNDERWORLD: RISE OF THE LYCANS over the weekend during Comic Con. It’s a group of 4 new stills. Before I get to that though, let me give you the rundown on the third entry to the UNDERWORLD franchise.
This one comes from director Patrick Tatopoulos with a script from Danny McBride. It stars Rhona Mitra (below), Bill Nighy, and Michael Sheen. The synopsis reads: An origins story centered on the centuries-old feud between the the race of aristocratic vampires known as Death Dealers, and their onetime slaves, the Lycans. Mitra plays Sonja, secret lover of the Lycan leader Lucian (Sheen). Sonja must help battle the Death Dealer army to win the werewolves’ freedom.
I’ve never been a huge fan of the UNDERWORLD films (I am a huge fan of Kate Beckinsale’s though..) and this one seems like it’s almost branching out on it’s own… so needless to say it doesn’t really have much of my interest yet.
