I’m sorry folks, I just can’t get excited for another UNDERWORLD flick. Mind you this is coming from a guy who’s not really into the franchise to begin with. But alas my sole purpose here is to bring you all the latest breaking news on our beloved genre and that includes flicks about battling vampires and werewolves. So what am I here to tell you all today? Check it.
Sony Screen Gems have decided now is about the right time to drop the official title for the fourth UNDERWORLD film. Are you ready for this? Drum roll please…. UNDERWORLD 4: NEW DAWN. Alright then… Kind of has a TWILIGHT SAGA feel to it, doesn’t it? But we won’t talk about that.. And what’s with the actual number? If Sony decides to stick with that this will be the first time UNDERWORLD tags an actual number onto one of it’s sequels.
Sony have also decided to drop the synopsis for the film, which I’m sure you’re all eager to hear about. So what will UNDERWORLD 4: NEW DAWN be about?
After being held in a coma-like state for fifteen years, vampire Selene learns that she has a fourteen-year-old vampire/Lycan hybrid daughter, Nissa, and when she finds her, they must stop BioCom from creating super Lycans that will kill them all.
Sounds like a pretty generic UNDERWORLD flick to me. What do you guys think? Digging it? Hit us with your thoughts below!
UNDERWORLD 4: NEW DAWN is coming from the directing duo of Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein, with the gorgeous Kate Beckinsale (below) set to reprise her role as ‘Selene.’ The film will be hitting theaters everywhere in glorious 3D come January 20, 2012.
