Underworld prequel?

The UNDERWORLD franchise is truly set up to give and keep on giving. What the flock do I mean by that? Because the story is so classic (Vampires vs Werewolves vs. hot chick), the franchise could go on forever, with new installments every other year… and they’d all make a shit load of money. I’m not talkin’ theatrical, but the STD market would love an UNDERWORLD franchise… and why not? Low budgets, big profits… it’s a STD dream come true.

So when producer Tom Rosenberg chatted with ComingSoon.net, the talks of a possible UNDERWORLD prequel was not all that surprising. Though he wouldn’t talk specifics, he did say that an ‘official’ announcement on the prequel will be made very soon, and director Len Wiseman will at least be on board to produce (but not direct).

The big question that everyone wants to know is if Kate Beckinsale will be back. He wouldn’t comment, but I suspect no. Why should she? She’s done two, her careers taking off, it’s a prequel, there’s really no need. And that’s the glory of the UNDERWORLD series- they could star ANY hottie in black spandex, and the films would still work.

To check out the full scoop, go ahead and click HERE, and stick around for that ‘official announcement’ any day now.
