For all the remakes and watered down crap that we have to slog through as fans of the genre, the studios do have to be given credit for occassionally picking up a truly interesting and orignal sounding project. Today it’s Universal that gets a tip of the that.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal Pictures has acquired the rights to Ken Kalfus’ short story “The Moment They Were Waiting For,” … In the story, a killer is executed, setting in motion a supernatural phenomenon whereby the entire citizenry learns of the date on which they will die.

Sweet! No matter what kind of madness that concept explores, you know it’s got to be a good time! We’ll definitely keep you in the loop as we learn more about this one.
