New trailer! Universal announces a March release date for The Hunt

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Originally set to reach theatres on September 27th last year, the Universal / Blumhouse thriller THE HUNT was delayed after the U.S. was struck by a series of mass shootings. The studio has been silent about the film for months. But they ended that silence today by announcing that THE HUNT is coming to theatres after all – and the release is only one month away. The film will finally be reaching theatres on Friday, March 13th.

Along with the announcement comes a new trailer, plus a new poster that proudly shows off how much controversy the movie has stirred up before anyone has even seen it.

Directed by Craig Zobel from a screenplay by Damon Lindelof and Nick Cuse, THE HUNT has the following synopsis:

Twelve strangers wake up in a clearing. They don’t know where they are, or how they got there. They don't know they've been chosen… for a very specific purpose… The Hunt.

In the shadow of a dark internet conspiracy theory, a group of globalist elites gathers for the very first time at a remote Manor House to hunt humans for sport. But the elites’ master plan is about to be derailed because one of the hunted, Crystal, knows The Hunters’ game better than they do. She turns the tables on the killers, picking them off, one by one, as she makes her way toward the mysterious woman at the center of it all.

Betty Gilpin, Hilary Swank, Emma Roberts, Ike Barinholtz, Amy Madigan, and Ethan Suplee star.
