Vin Diesel

Vin Diesel is one hot actor right now, and I'm not talking about his good looks. Diesel has RIDDICK hitting theaters next month, FAST AND FURIOUS 7 should start filming soon, there's a good chance he's is voicing Groot in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and he will star in THE LAST WITCH HUNTER for Summit.

But oh wait, there's more! According to THR, the actor is now also attached to an original sci-fi film called SOLDIERS OF THE SUN. The spec script comes from Arash Amel (who also wrote the upcoming GRACE OF MONACO) and Universal hopes the film will be the start of a new ensemble-type franchise with Diesel, similar to FAST AND FURIOUS.

THR says that SOLDIERS OF THE SUN "is set in a post-apocalyptic future and focuses on a squad of soldiers that searches for a fabled city of gold while on a tour of duty in Mexico liberating it from an alien race known as Orcs." It certainly sounds like a Vin Diesel flick, doesn't it? There aren't any other details on SOLDIERS OF THE SUN, but if the film is suppose to be the next big thing for Universal we could have some more news in the next few weeks.

You'll be able to see Diesel back on the big screen as RIDDICK on September 6th, 2013.
