USA Up All Night comic book teams Rhonda Shear with Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl

On January 4, 1991, comedian/B-movie actress Rhonda Shear took over as the host of the Friday night edition of USA Up All Night, a hosted movie show that aired on the USA Network on Friday and Saturday nights. (The late comedian Gilbert Gottfried hosted the Saturday night edition.) More than twenty years have gone by since USA Up All Night stopped airing in February of 1998… but the dear departed show is getting a follow-up in the form of a comic book called Up All Night with Rhonda Shear, which is officially licensed and independently produced.

Copies of the first issue of Up All Night with Rhonda Shear can be purchased through this IndieGogo campaign… and this one features a crossover between Rhonda and her fellow movie hosts Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl, from the Shudder series The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs!

Here’s the info on Up All Night with Rhonda Shear:

Everyone’s favorite “Bedtime Buddy” is back in her own comic series! A series filled with dazzling displays and amazing feats! Just for you! Our loyal fans.

In this issue, Rhonda finds herself at the infamous horror convention: “the Necronomicomic-con”. While in attendance, a meteorite decides to crash the party, by literally crashing through the ceiling, causing the cosplaying attendees to mutate into extreme versions of the icons that their costumes were created to celebrate. So, join us for some cheers, tears, and all that you fear… in Up! All Night with Rhonda Shear. This issue’s special guests… The legendary Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl!

Issue #1 is the first in what will hopefully be many stories to feature the beloved 90’s television icon, Rhonda Shear. From pure comedy to complete terror…

Elvira has had her own comics. Horror host Svengoolie has met up with DC Comics characters and there are two Svengoolie comic books currently in development. So it’s only fair that Rhonda Shear, Joe Bob Briggs, and Darcy the Mail Girl get to have some comic book fun as well.
