I don’t know about you guys but I’ve always been intrigued by urban legends. They’re such classic tales of subtle suspense and horror. So much potential. So it’s no surprise that I’m actually looking forward to Shaun Troke’s upcoming film SPARROW.
Described as something along the lines of an urban legend camping trip, I actually told you about SPARROW back in March. Well since then the film has started production, filmed and officially wrapped! Well almost… We got word today from a source that says principal photography on the feature has nearly wrapped. To celebrate, the flick’s official Facebook page has posted up the new one-sheet you see directly below. But that’s not all!
Polish TV news site TVS.pl have loads of video regarding SPARROW for your viewing pleasure! Tons of behind the scenes videos can be found right over HERE or by clicking through on that gruesome shot below. Now the actual film seems to be in English but the overlapping news-caster isn’t. I’m sure you can get a good idea of what this flick will be like from the videos regardless.
Nobody wants to believe the story but soon the group realise there really is somebody out there in the woods. . . Will anyone survive?
Sparrow is an international collaboration between Polish producer Wojciech Stuchlik and Sussex based director Shaun Troke. A youthful buddy-ensemble slasher movie, with the humour of Scream, the sex appeal of Hostel and the backdrop of The Blair Witch project. Filming is due to take place on location in Hamerla, Poland in June this year and the team aim to have ‘Sparrow’ released worldwide by the end of 2010.
With a cast of exciting young British actors, the film is based around six teenage friends who set off on a camping trip in the forest which is the site of a presumed historic murder. Their disbelief in this urban legend is soon changed when strange happenings begin to occur to each of them…….as well as other campers who are fortunate enough to spend the night there…
The cast of SPARROW includes Jack W. Carter, Alexis Jayne Defoe, Marian Folga, Eric Kolelas, Sarah Linda, Thomas James Longley, Faye Sewell, Jordan Greenhough, Nikki Harrup (below), Jennifer Karen, Ali Keane, Leonora Moore and Joseph Stacey. Word has it that SPARROW will be premiering this Halloween though details on that are scarce. As always as soon as we hear more you’ll be the first to know!
