Well, look what we have here! It seems that France is looking to take a stab at the horror/comedy genre. The flick’s title in French translates to TEETH OF THE NIGHT, however it’s being sold in the U.S. as VAMPIRE PARTY. And it looks like one kick ass, bloody bash! You can check out one pic up top, one below, and the rest here. Now strap on some fangs and sink ’em into the plot:
A group of friends are ready to do anything to attend the most prestigious, secretive and exclusive party of the year taking place in a sumptuous and isolate castle. As they try anything to get in, they don’t know that the bloody line continues behind the velvet ropes…
They do manage to get into the party, and this is going to be an unforgettable night. Because the party is in fact a vampire gathering, and they are the buffet! Needless to say there will be a lot of necking.
Happily for them, those vampires are not as sharp as their teeth. Still, the little group will have to fight from dusk ’til dawn to get out alive.
Well that does sound like excellent starting ground for a scary comedy. I’ve heard that V.P. is attempting to draw from the same vein as DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES, SCARY MOVIE, and SHAUN OF THE DEAD. Regardless, those pics look like some seriously hardcore shit. I’ll be keeping my eyes on this one for sure!
V.P. was directed by Stephen Cafiero and Vincent Lobelle from a script by Cafiero and Jean-Patrick Benes. It stars Patrick Mille, Frédérique Bel, Julie Fournier, Vincent Desagnat, Sam Karmann, and Hélène de Fougerolles. No word yet on a U.S. release.
