Venom: Let There Be Carnage release pushed back three months

We'll have to wait a little longer before Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock returns to our lives as Sony Pictures have announced that they will be pushing back the release of Venom: Let There Be Carnage from June 25th to September 17th. While it's only natural to see yet another film pushed back in the times of COVID-19, this move likely has more to do with Fast & Furious 9 recently moving to occupy the Venom sequel's now former slot.

This isn't the first time that Venom: Let There Be Carnage has been bumped, as the film was previously slated to hit theaters on October 2, 2020 before it was pushed to June 25th. The sequel finds Andy Serkis taking over from Ruben Fleischer in the director's chair, and features Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams reprising their roles of Eddie Brock and Anne Weying, respectively, with Woody Harrelson also starring as Cletus Kasady, the man who will become Carnage. The new release date for Venom: Let There Be Carnage will find the film facing off against Death on the Nile and The Boss Baby: Family Business, but as we know, we certainly haven't seen the last of studios reshuffling their release dates.
