A couple weeks ago we learned that the gorgeous Mary Elizabeth Winstead would be toplining Matthijs Van Heijningen’s prequel to John Carpenter’s THE THING alongside Joel Edgerton. Awesome. I love Mary Elizabeth Winstead (below). I mean I really love Mary Elizabeth Winstead. But then again who doesn’t right? Right.
So that’s that. Today we got another update for the film from Variety, learning who’d be tackling the effects duties for this go around! Those names would be Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff Jr. of Amalgamated Dynamics Inc!
Alright… Sure the name doesn’t ring any bells but let me school you all on a few of the films these guys have worked on: CIRQUE DU FREAK, X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, ALIENS VS PREDATOR: REQUIEM, SPIDER-MAN, ZODIAC, ALIEN VS PREDATOR, SCARY MOVIE 3, EVOLUTION, THE X-FILES, TREMORS, ALIEN 3, and MORTAL KOMBAT among many others. They’ve even won an Academy Award on top of several nominations. Not too shabby huh? So what do you guys think?
