Ah, reality TV contest shows. Love em’ or hate em’, I think it’s safe to say they’re here and they’re never going away. So why not embrace them, right? Well here’s a reality contest show that might have you interest… it’s called SCREAM QUEENS, and I’ll give you one guess to figure out what the show is all about.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, VH1 is now casting for the show, which takes a bunch of chicks competing against each other in order to become… that’s right, the next scream queen! The show’s in conjuncture with Lionsgate, with the prize as a screaming role in an upcoming (though unnamed) horror movie.
Details on the contest aren’t super specific at this point, but will involve getting acting lessons that should progressively make them better actors. The judge will be a horror flick director, one that works with Lionsgate on a fairly regular basis.
I can totally see this show being awesome… for a few reasons. VH1 makes some really entertaining reality shows (THE SURREAL LIFE is addicting… like heroin), and the fact that this is gonna have a bunch of chicks competing for something as horror friendly as the next scream queen? I see contests involving showers, getting chased while being close to naked, and the ability to wear a braless t-shirt well. All in a days work as the next scream queen, right?
The show’s set to air this October (conveniently around Halloween), and it’s only a matter of time before the big Lionsgate horror director is revealed… have any theories on who it could be?
