Every child of the 80s will remember going to the video store and trying to find a movie to rent. Back before the days of Blu-ray and On Demand, selecting a movie usually meant finding the flick with the coolest box art. Like modern posters, classic VHS art has been lost but thanks to the Internet there are countless reminders of these cool creations. This column will be dedicated to bringing you reminders of a bygone era and a look at how cool some of these movies looked on store shelves.
THE GOONIES
If THE GOONIES was not a part of your childhood, then you are over 40 or have no soul. While it may not be the best movie, Richard Donner's kiddie version of INDIANA JONES holds a special place in the hearts of movie fans. THE KINDRED

GHOSTBUSTERS
This is one of those movies you would never mistake for anything else thanks to the iconic logo on the front cover. THE THING

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD
In the public domain for decades, almost every distributor has released a version of George Romero's classic zombie movie. So, with there being so many choices for VHS covers, I went with a pair that evoked the retro, B-movie style that NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD deserves. A classic in every sense of the word.
