Video teases the release of John Carpenter’s Halloween 2018 score

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

John Carpenter created one of the greatest, most iconic horror scores in history when he composed the music for his 1978 film HALLOWEEN – which also happens to be one of the greatest, most iconic horror movies ever made. After decades of not being involved with HALLOWEEN sequels, Carpenter has returned to executive produce Blumhouse's upcoming HALLOWEEN film… and he has also teamed up with his son Cody Carpenter and godson Daniel Davies to compose the score for the new film.

The original motion picture soundtrack for the new HALLOWEEN is set to be released on October 19th, the same day the movie is scheduled to reach theatres, and John Carpenter has shared a video that announces the release date while giving us a brief tease of the film's music.

Directed by David Gordon Green from a screenplay he wrote with Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley, the new HALLOWEEN only acknowledges the events of Carpenter's original HALLOWEEN. In this sequel, Jamie Lee Curtis reprises the role of heroine

Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

Also in the cast are Judy Greer as Laurie's daughter Karen; Andi Matichak as Laurie's granddaughter Allyson; Miles Robbins, Virginia Gardner, Dylan Arnold, and Drew Scheid as Allyson's Haddonfield High classmates; Will Patton and Rob Niter as police officers; Rhian Rees as a character named Dana; and Diva Tyler as a caretaker. Original Michael Myers performer Nick Castle and stuntman James Jude Courtney both wore the mask of the iconic slasher this time around.
