I love this new trend of releasing vintage-looking posters for upcoming horror flicks. Just a couple of weeks ago, DANCE OF THE DEAD received the “old school” treatment. Now, today, I’ve learned that the gory slasher SWEATSHOP is also getting into the act. Simply cast your eyes upwards for a look at its new oldie poster. Not bad! Click here to view the poster in its entirety. Are those glowing neon bracelets on that severed arm? I believe so. Just take a glance at the plot and it’ll make sense:
Sweatshop is an ultra-violent horror film set within America’s industrial raver subculture. Charlie has invited her friends to a labyrinthine warehouse to help her set up for an impromptu rave, unaware of the fact that living in the building is an evil presence known only as “The Beast”. The end result of their bloodsoaked confrontation will be the thing legends are made of.
Sounds like one swinging good time! SWEATSHOP was directed by Stacy Davidson who co-wrote the script with Ted Geoghegan. It stars Ashley Kay, Peyton Wetzel, Melanie Donihoo (below), Danielle Jones, and Jeremy Sumrall as “The Beast”. The flick is still set to release some time in 2008.
