Yup, the dead of winter equals awards season folks…you know what that means right? The mothaf*ckin’ Golden Schmoes are in full effect, that’s what!

For those either new to the JoBlo universe or clogged with too much resin on the brain, The Golden Schmoes are JoBlo’s annual movie awards ceremony where fans (that means YOU) get to pick the categories, choose the nominees, and best of all…you get to elect the winners!

Created back in 2001 as way to boycott the politicking of current day awards hoopla, The Golden Schmoes are meant to put the power back in the hands of the people, instead of simply rewarding a film with the largest lobbying campaign. And given this year’s crop of nominees, I’d say we’re definitely on track to do just that (MOON anyboday?!?)

Since there is an extensive array of categories this go around, I’ll focus on some of the more genre-centric ones before directing you to your balloting. Voting starts today and continues until next Friday (February 22nd-March 4th). The official winners will be announced the following day, on March 5th!

And the nominees are…
