Wait, Bruce Campbell’s Ash might still be coming to Mortal Kombat 11?!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Awhile back, Bruce Campbell's Ash Williams from the EVIL DEAD franchise was rumored to be one of the DLC fighters added to the roster of the popular MORTAL KOMBAT 11 game, alongside other crossover characters like Terminator, Joker, RoboCop, and Spawn (in which the latter two brought back their original actors to voice them – Peter Weller and Keith David – as David voiced Spawn on HBO before Michael Jai White got the role in the live-action film).  So it was a disappointment when neither Ash nor Campbell ended up not being a part of either of the last two expansions. To put salt in the wound, Campbell even official denounced the rumor last year on Twitter:

However, the voice actor for both Raiden and the Joker – Richard Epcar – was recently quoted during a live Instagram Q&A session confirming Campbell's involvement in MK sequel, Here's the excerpt:

Oh, that’s right. Bruce Campbell will be in Mortal Kombat…He’s going to be a part of the new package.

And here's a snippet of the actual video from the Q&A itself, via Twitter user @Masterofcold:

Obviously, this is far from set in stone. While new content may be coming to the game (and as a voice actor who needs to record new lines – especially for those pre-fight quips – it's conceivable that Epcar would be aware of new content); however, post-AFTERMATH content has not been confirmed by either Ed Boon or NetherRealm Studios. Furthermore, it's possible Epcar was privy to the fact that Campbell was in talks at one point, but wasn't aware of the finer details, and wouldn't know if the deal fell through or not. But here's hoping it didn't, or at least that a new one is being made!

But, what do you guys think? Fans of MORTAL KOMBAT DLC characters? If so, looking forward to playing as Ash if it were to come to fruition? Either way, sound off below!

Meanwhile, you can play MORTAL KOMBAT 11 – and it's AFTERMATH expansion – right now! Campbell will be next seen as President Richard Nixon in the upcoming film 18 1/2!
