War is hell in the final trailer for Bad Robot’s Overlord

Of the genre films left to come out this year, one I'm most looking forward to is the Bad Robot production OVERLORD, which has been described as being "batshit" and looks to be a cool mash-up of World War II war movie and creature feature. In the absence of a Wolfenstein movie, I'll gladly take this.

We're about one month out from the release of OVERLORD now, and the marketing department has dropped a new trailer, apparently the final trailer, online to stir up some more hype. It works for me; I think the trailer embedded below is pretty cool.

Directed by Julius Avery from a screenplay by Billy Ray and Mark L. Smith (based on an idea Ray and Abrams crafted together a decade ago), OVERLORD follows

two paratroopers who are caught behind enemy lines after their plane crashes on a mission to destroy a German Radio Tower in a small town outside of Normandy during the D-Day invasion. After reaching their target, the two paratroopers come to realize that besides fighting off Nazi soldiers, they also must combat against supernatural forces that are a result of a secret Nazi experiment.

The film stars Wyatt Russell, Bokeem Woodbine, Jovan Adepo, Jacob Anderson, Dominic Applewhite, Pilou Asbaek, Iain de Caestecker, John Magaro, and Mathilde Ollivier.

OVERLORD is scheduled to reach theatres and IMAX screens on November 9th. Check out the trailer below and see if you think this looks worthy of a post-Halloween trip to the cinema.
