A couple of weeks ago I brought along the first official still from Pedro Almodovar’s THE SKIN I INHABIT (which you can see above), which stars Antonio Banderas as a dangerously obsessed surgeon. Now I’ve got some release news for y’all, as the horror drama secures territories around the globe for a fall release…

According to Screen Daily, Warner Bros. has snatched up the rights to distribute the film in Spain, Almodovar’s native land. Meanwhile, Sony Pictures Classics will release the film in North America… No release dates have been set, but it’s looking SKIN will be a fall release everywhere. (Screen Daily claims Warner’s will unveil it in September.)

Regarding an early cut of the disturbing picture, Almodovar had this to say: “Now, having seen the film I believe it is an intense drama that at times looks like a film noir, at other times like a science fiction film, and also like a terror.”

We’ll let you know when the film finalizes its release plan.
