Here’s an interesting adaptation heading our way according to Variety. Jed Rubenfeld’s 2007 novel THE INTERPRETATION OF MURDER is looking to head to the big screen thanks to Warner Brothers. The studio has already tapped Alex Holmes to direct the film as well as rewrite a draft done by Chris Kyle. Paula Weinstein is set to produce.

Holmes doesn’t have many credits under his belt so this seems like a risky venture for Warner. Who knows though… maybe we’ve got something worth checking out heading our way. The novel follows a Sigmund Freud protege who discovers a trail of sadistic murders in turn-of-the-century New York. Who doesn’t love them some sadistic murders? For some reason I’m reminded of the Johnny Depp starring FROM HELL…. so take that for what it’s worth.

That’s all we’ve got for THE INTERPRETATION OF MURDER right now so be sure to keep it here for updates as we hear them.

Holmes served as executive producer on the made-for-TV flick THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL, not to be confused with the Scarlett Johansson (above) starring movie of the same name.
