We Talk Megan Leavey with stars Kate Mara, Common and More

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

The first time I really discovered the lovely Kate Mara, she was terrorizing  Dylan McDermott in the first season of American Horror Story. Ever since the actress continues to take on interesting projects including MAN DOWN, MORGAN and THE MARTIAN. With her latest – the true story of a Marine corporal who develops a wonderful relationship with a combat dog – the actress gives what is possibly her best work to date. MEGAN LEAVEY is a true story, and Kate is terrific portraying the real life Megan who fought to adopt her partner – a combat dog named Rex.

At the junket for the film, we spoke with director Gabriela Cowperthwaite and Kate Mara about the project. Kate discussed playing Megan and what she went through to take on the role. As for Ms. Cowperthwiate, she opened up about how she became involved in this real life heroic tale. We also sat down with co-stars Common and Ramon Rodriguez. Common – who has been very busy lately – talked about playing this particular tough guy. Ramon talked about playing the romantic lead opposite Kate. It was a real pleasure sitting down with all those invovlved.

If you are looking for a heroic war tale that will tug at your heartstrings, make sure you catch MEGAN LEAVEY this Friday at a theatre near you.
