Welcome to the Blumhouse: L. Scott Caldwell and Richard Brake join Bingo

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

A couple weeks ago, we learned that Oscar-nominated actress Adriana Barraza stars in the film Bingo, director Gigi Saul Guerrero's contribution to the Blumhouse and Amazon anthology series Welcome to the Blumhouse. Now the names of more cast members have been revealed, and they include L. Scott Caldwell – who may be best known for playing the role of Rose on twenty-two episodes of Lost – and genre regular Richard Brake.

Scripted by Guerrero, Shane McKenzie, and Perry Blackshear, Bingo has the following synopsis:

Set in the barrio of Oak Springs, Bingo follows a strong and stubborn group of elderly friends who refuse to be gentrified.  Barraza plays the leader of the pack, Lupita, a “chingona” (aka bad ass) who grew up in the neighborhood formerly filled with crime and dangerous characters. Lupita has dedicated her life to cleaning up the neighborhood and creating a community the residents could be proud to call home. Little does Lupita and her friends know, their beloved bingo hall (hence the title) is about to be sold to a much more powerful force than money itself.

Caldwell will be playing Lupita's best friend Delores, a "witty, loyal, and tough grandmother". Richard Brake is playing a character named Mr. Big. They're joined in the cast by Joshua Caleb Johnson as Caleb, Clayton Landey as Morris, Jonathan Medina as Eric, Bertila Damas as Yolanda, Grover Coulson as Clarence, Kelly Murtagh as Raquel, and David Jensen as Mario.

Most of those names don't mean anything to us at this point, but Brake as Mr. Big is promising.

Jason Blum is executive producing Bingo with Jeremy Gold, Marci Wiseman, Lisa Bruce, Lauren Downey, and Raynor Shima.
