It’s no secret Paul W.S. Anderson’s RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE is in the process of being filmed as I type this. It’s also no secret that star Milla Jovovich has been ‘tweeting’ her little heart out from the set! (See HERE and HERE.) Mind you these aren’t pointless tweets from a celebrity… No no. Jovovich packs a punch and offers some pretty juicy things in her updates.
Which brings us to today’s update… In the past 24 hours Jovovich has let us in on a number of things. Firstly: “A lot of it is taken directly from the game, so its very important for us to know the right moves.” Secondly: “The fight is Alice, Claire and Chris Redfield against super powerful Wesker. The moves r taken directly from RE5, a homage to the fans. Thirdly: “The 3D is super cool, but its just an added element that gets u into the world. If u loved the other films, this goes above and beyond!” And lastly: “We started filming on sept. 25 and we wrap around the middle of dec. There will b a teaser trailer in theaters in jan. Is what I just heard.”
Whoa so that’s a lot to take in! So AFTERLIFE is really leaning on the history of the video games. Awesome! There’s going to be a badass fight with Wesker taken straight from RESIDENT EVIL 5? Awesome!! And we’re getting a trailer in January? Awesome! I don’t know about the rest of you but Anderson or no Anderson Jovovich’s tweets has me completely sold on AFTERLIFE. Sure once I see some actual footage from the flick my opinion may be swayed greatly but I have a feeling this one is going to rock!
