Who will be the next to run around naked with a chainsaw? Well none other than the 11th Doctor himself, Matt Smith! (Nakedness not guaranteed.)
Bet you didn’t expect that.
There’s no comment yet from Smith on the role but it will certainly give fans a new light in which to look at their beloved Doctor. Almeida Theatre Artistic Director, Rupert Goold will direct the play from Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa‘s adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ original novel with music from Duncan Sheik. The first run of the show will launch this December in London’s West End.
This is not Smith’s first time on the stage. He’s had roles in THE HISTORY OF BOYS, FRESH KILLS, and SWIMMING WITH SHARKS. Don’t forget that Smith was recently filming Ryan Gosling‘s directorial debut, HOW TO CATCH A MONSTER which we should see sometime next year.
