William Baldwin will participate in The Purge for USA and Syfy

William Baldwin

Another actor has joined the cast of the upcoming The Purge television series, which will be airing on both the USA Network and Syfy. This new cast member is from a famous family and is someone who I know best from his days of creeping on Sharon Stone in the early '90s cable classic SLIVER: William Baldwin.

Baldwin will be playing someone with ties to the character Jane, a "dedicated and hard working" woman who hires a Purge assassin. Jane will be played by previously announced cast member Amanda Warren. Baldwin is taking on the role of

Don Ryker, the Managing Partner at Jane’s investment firm, and her boss. Handsome, confident, and powerful, Don leads his team with alacrity and intelligence. He appears to be a big Jane supporter but in fact may be standing in the way of her career advancement. Don also harbors a Purge Night secret.

Also in the cast with Baldwin and Warren are Gabriel Chavarria as US Marine Miguel; Jessica Garza as Miguel's sister Penelope, who "belongs to a Purge-worshipping cult"; Colin Woodell as Rick, a man trying to curry favor with the pro-Purge elite; Lili Simmons as the young, rich, and rebellious Lila; Hannah Anderson as Jenna, who is anti-Purge and dares to venture out on Purge Night; and Lee Tergesen as Joe, an armored and masked man who tries to stop acts of Purge violence.

THE PURGE franchise creator James DeMonaco is executive producing the series with Blumhouse, Platinum Dunes, Sebastien K. Lemercier, and showrunner Thomas Kelly.

The pilot episode is being directed by Anthony Hemingway.
