A new, exciting trailer for the allegorical supernatural horror-thriller Witch Hunt has just been released online – which you can watch at the top of the article!
Here is the official synopsis:
In a modern America where witches are real and witchcraft is illegal, a sheltered teenager must face her own demons and prejudices as she helps two young witches avoid law enforcement and cross the southern border to asylum in Mexico.
So this is a great premise! While using a supernatural entity as an allegory for discrimination and racism isn't necessarily new (the way X-Men used mutants, Bright used orcs, or District 9 used aliens); however, it's still a viable narrative device to use, as it's a great way to get these ideas out there – which our own Matt Rooney gave a respectable 7/10!
Meanwhile, Witch Hunt – directed by Elle Callahan and starring Elizabeth Mitchell, Abigail Cowen, and Gideon Adlon – which recently premiered at this year's SXSW!
So what do you guys think? And what would you do if you had witch powers?
