Having already seen STAKE LAND, I can attest that this trailer is a pretty good indicator of what you can expect from the dark, low-budget post-apocalyptic horror drama from Jim Mickle (MULBERRY STREET). Alternately melancholy, dramatic and suspenseful, the movie is a testament to what you can do with a little money and a lot of creativity. Give the preview a peek below and let us know what you think. (Also give the character prequels a glance if you missed them the other day.)

The synopsis: Martin was a normal teenage boy before the country collapsed in an empty pit of economic and political disaster. A vampire epidemic has swept across what is left of the nation’s abandoned towns and cities, and it’s up to Mister, a death dealing, rogue vampire hunter, to get Martin safely north to Canada, the continent’s New Eden.

STAKE LAND is getting a limited release in theaters beginning APRIL 22nd, then moves onto Video OnDemand a few days later on the 25th. (It will continue to roll out theatrically throughout the spring.) It stars Nick Damici, Danielle Harris, Connor Paolo and Kelly McGillis.
