It’s a Wonderful Knife: trailer unwrapped for Jane Widdop, Joel McHale, Justin Long Christmas slasher

A trailer has been released for the Christmas slasher It’s a Wonderful Knife, coming to theatres next month

Being a Christmas-themed slasher with a goofy title earns It’s a Wonderful Knife the honor of being one of my most highly anticipated horror releases of the year – and with the film’s November 10th theatrical release date just one month away, a trailer for It’s a Wonderful Knife has arrived online. You can watch it in the embed above.

Coming our way from the team of Tragedy Girls director Tyler MacIntyre and Freaky screenwriter Michael Kennedy, the film has the following synopsis: Set in idyllic Angel Falls. A year after saving her town from a psychotic killer on Christmas Eve, Winnie Carruthers’ life is less than wonderful — but when she wishes she’d never been born, she finds herself in a nightmare parallel universe and discovers that without her, things could be much, much worse. Now the killer is back, and she must team up with the town misfit to identify the killer and get back to her own reality.

Jane Widdop (Yellowjackets) plays Winnie Carruthers, with Joel McHale (Community) taking on the role of Winnie’s father and Justin Long (Barbarian) playing Angel Falls town patron Mr. Waters. Katharine Isabelle (Ginger Snaps), Jess McLeod (One of Us is Lying), and Cassandra Naud (Influencer) are also in the cast.

A Divide/Conquer production, It’s a Wonderful Knife was produced by Seth Caplan, Daniel Bekerman, and Kennedy, with Greg Gilreath and Adam Hendricks of Divide/Conquer, in association with Fourth Culture Films.

RLJE Films is handling the theatrical release. The company’s Mark Ward had this to say: “We’re excited to release It’s a Wonderful Knife and once again work with its amazing cast and filmmakers. Over the last few years, we’ve been fortunate to have released horror/holiday films that have been embraced by audiences and we believe this one is no exception.

It’s a Wonderful Knife will eventually be streaming on the Shudder service as well.
