According to Entertainment Weekly, Evan Rachel Wood has signed on to star in the second season of Showtime’s vampire cable series TRUE BLOOD, co-starring Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer.
Wood will be playing Sophie-Anne, the vampire Queen of Louisiana, a 500-year-old vampire from France who is charming, wily, ruthless and wise. She’s a consummate diplomat who has (or had) many of history’s most famous people on speed dial.
Cool beans, yo! While I have yet to check out the series (the first season hits DVD May 19th), it looks like it’s something I’d enjoy, plus it’s on pay cable, so they can swear and show titties and what not, which is always a plus. Not only that, but Wood rocked the house in THIRTEEN and had me sold ever since. Can’t wait to see what she’ll do here!
Stick around for more casting updates from TRUE BLOOD as Season 2 looms closer.
