Writers talk Friday the 13th 2; Kane Hodder wants to play Jason

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Like many of the rest of you fellow human beings out there, I dig the hell out of director Marcus Nispel's 2009 FRIDAY THE 13TH reboot with Derek Mears as Jason Voorhees. And today, the movie's screenwriters, Damian Shannon and Mark Swift talked a bit about their plans for the abandoned sequel. More specifically, they were asked if they ever considered having Pamela in the original film a bit more – and their answer is badass.

Shannon and Swift said:

We talked about it. Ultimately that idea was left behind… because we wanted it for the sequel! Yes, here for the first time ever, we can confirm that we had extended flashbacks in the unmade winter sequel with Pamela and Elias. Oh, and Pamela was the fucking terrifying one…

And speaking of another FRIDAY THE 13TH flick, Kane Hodder says he'd still be up for returning as everyone's favorite momma's boy.

I mean, I would love to. We’ve got to do another one, right? There have been 12 movies so far. We gotta do 13, right? So, I’m all for it! Hey, I can still kill motherf*ckers! [Laughs]

Ah, how nice would it be if all this came together in, you know, an actual movie? But, urgh, it's looking like we're not going to be getting any new Jason stories any time soon. But no need to rehash all that shit here and now. Instead, you can go ahead and snag the remake on Blu-ray right HERE.
