Last month, my buddy Ammon told you guys that a direct-to-video sequel to WRONG TURN was in the cards, and that it was in the process of coming together.
Yesterday, Fango was given info on the sequel, which will probably hit shelves late this year or early next. This time around, the film centres on Ma and Pa (who are siblings, by the way), the inbreds who spawned (as Arrow calls them) the deformed, inbred psycho loonies from the original. Taking cues from HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION and HELLRAISER: HELLWORLD, the sibling-couple decide to drop in on a group of contestants on a ‘Survivor’-style reality show, which spills over into the savages’ neck of the woods.
No word on who would direct the sequel, though because the screenwriters (Turi Meyer and Al Septien) worked together on LEPRECHAUN 2, SLEEPSTALKER and CANDYMAN: DAY OF THE DEAD, with the latter two films being directed by Meyer, don’t be surprised if the same thing happens again.
