The X-Men have come home, folks. Since Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, the cinematic rights to our favorite merry mutants have reverted to Marvel Studios, who as we all know currently exist under the purview of ol’ Walt Disney’s cryogenically-frozen body. As Kevin Feige has recently met with his team to discuss the next ten years of Marvel Studios’ content, it’s safe to assume the X-Men will eventually be making a colossal splash in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This may come sooner rather than later, after all, even those hard of hearing would’ve recognized Patrick Stewart’s voice in the trailer for DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS. By the time this video drops, you may have even seen his face on-screen, chatting away with the good doctor.
After no less than ten movies under the 20th Century Fox banner — twelve if you count DEADPOOL and its sequel — the original cinematic X-Men universe looks like it could be making a comeback in a variety of ways. So why not settle in with us to take a look back at the first two original movies of Fox’s X-Men franchise – X-MEN and its sequel, X2: X-MEN UNITED. Awful title. Maybe we’ll just stick to calling it X2. Anyway, you know what it’s time for… FACE OFF!
