Zach Baylin enters the ring as the screenwriter for Creed 3

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Raise your gloved hand if you forgot or were wholly unaware that a third CREEED film was set to enter the ring. Ah, I can see by a show of hands that I'm in good company.

Someone ring the bell, because reports are pouring in that CREED 3 has found a new screenwriter in KING RICHARD scribe Zach Baylin. The upcoming sequel will of course continue the journey of Adonis Creed, as played by Michael B. Jordan, though plot details are being kept under wraps at this time. Furthermore, the project also has yet to find a director, so maybe it will be a while before we see this one in theaters. In fact, it probably will take some time for CREED 3 to make its way down the runway and into cinemas on account of Jordan's schedule being jam-packed for the foreseeable future.

As you're likely to know, the first CREED film was written and directed by BLACK PANTHER and FRUITVALE STATION director Ryan Coogler. The film that also starred Sylvester Stallone as the legendary Rocky Balboa grossed $173 million at the worldwide box office. In 2018, CREED 2 was released under the direction of Steven Caple Jr. (A DIFFERENT TREE, THE LAND), with Juel Taylor and Stallone having penned the script. The sequel that saw Adonis squaring off against Viktor Drago, the son of Ivan Drago (Florian Munteanu), went on to bank $214 million worldwide.

Currently, Jordan is filming the action crime drama WITHOUT REMORSE for director Stefano Sollima. Jordan will star as John Clark in the film, a Navy SEAL who goes on a path to avenge his wife's murder only to find himself inside of a larger conspiracy. The project is based on a novel by Tom Clancy.

We'll be sure to bring you more details related to CREED 3 as the project develops.
