Zack Snyder army of the dead Netflix

Mark your calendars everyone, Netflix has finally revealed a release date for Zack Snyder’s zombie epic Army of the Dead, with the streamer setting it for May 21st. His first zombie movie since his breakout remake of Dawn of the Dead, Army of the Dead stars Dave Bautista. As per the official Netflix synopsis: “Following a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, a group of mercenaries take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantine zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.”

We actually had a reporter visit the set of Army of the Dead back when it was shooting, and from what he told me behind the scenes, it sounds like Snyder’s got something really special up his sleeves. It’s too bad that the movie seems to be getting a little overlooked in favor of the upcoming release of the Justice League Snyder Cut, which I suppose was inevitable. However, Netflix seems all in on making this a massive franchise, with a prequel focusing on Matthias Schweighöfer’s character having already wrapped.

We’ll have more from Army of the Dead once the set visit embargo breaks, plus Netflix is all set to release the full teaser trailer on Thursday, so stay tuned! In the meantime, check out the teaser poster below!
