Zoe Saldana’s on a mission to kill as Colombiana. New pics of her next flick here!

Zoe Saldana is taking off the blue body paint and wierd genital/ponytail from her role in AVATAR to don something a bit more fitting. She is COLOMBIANA, a hard as nails assassin who takes on her parent’s murderers. Need I say more? Sure I do, that’s what I’m here for! Latino Review received a first look at the action/thriller COLOMBIANA by unveiling the pics below. We have a a wet Saldana, a dark Saldana and even a Saldan holding a long barreled weapon (above).

The film’s being directed by TRANSPORTER 3 visionary Oliver Megaton (where’s Optimus?) and is being called “a mash-up between THE PROFESSIONAL and KILL BILL.” Bold statement. If this is your first time with COLOMBIANA (sounds like a south of the border hooker) then check out the synopsis below!

The film centers on Cataleya Restrepo who at age 10 sees the brutal murder of her parents by a Colombian drug lord Don Luis. Cataleya manages to escape the bullets of the assassin and reach Chicago, where her uncle lives Emilio, also a gangster.

Emilio is doing its best to remove Cataleya from the criminal life, but she is determined to become a professional killer. At 25, Cataleya has become a real killer operating on behalf of his uncle, Emilio. But her sole desire is to find Don Luis to avenge the death of her parents.

This chick’s pretty ballsy to be calling herself a killer who doesn’t ask questions. Can she stand standing alongside the femme fatals before her? So far from the buzz that’s being generated around this flick, the answer is yes. A couple of script reviews and a set visit or two (let’s get our man Eric to take a look) and people are on fire for the film’s release.

The film will be released sometime next year (September 2011 to be exact) but so far thing’s are looking pretty good. No announcement for a trailer has been released yet. More than likely any sign of footage will be unleashed in January…and that’s just the teaser! So for the time being take a looksy through the pics below and strike back with what you think!
