It was just a couple weeks ago when I told you how the duo of Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo were both off the upcoming HALLOWEEN sequel. Some seen this as good news others not so good.
Well good or bad, fact is they’re off the project and it looks like Rob Zombie is back on. I’m not kidding. The guys over at ShockTillYouDrop got word today that Rob Zombie will be going back to Haddonfield to bring us a new Michael Myers adventure with the start date being pegged for as early as March! That’s a lot to take in one shot.
Upon looking for confirmation STYD got a lot of ‘no comments’ and were told that a press release would be coming out within the next couple days, so this seems to be on the money. So Rob Zombie coming back for HALLOWEEN? What do you take of this?
I’m torn. I love the HALLOWEEN films and anything and everything Michael Myers. Zombie’s version was Ok but wasn’t as great as I was hoping. Now I was excited to see Maury and Bustillo’s version, seeing how they brought us the apparently brilliant INSIDE. But alas it was not meant to be. Instead Zombie was meant to continue his HALLOWEEN vision. Now this poses a mess of questions.
According to STYD Zombie’s TYRANNOUSAURUS REX has been put on the backburner for now. My biggest question is whether or not HALLOWEEN 2 will still be set to take place directly after the first and will it be in the hospital? Word had it that Maury and Bustillo’s take was going to follow these lines, so will Zombie’s? Will he write his own script or work from Maury and Bustillo’s? How does he feel about being the second choice for this sequel? So many questions, so little answers.
